Ashton Hayward, President of the Andrews Research & Education Foundation and co-founder of Andrews Medicine, brings over 20 years of leadership experience to advancing sports medicine. He works to expand Dr. James R. Andrews’ groundbreaking orthopedic research and innovations nationwide.
From 2011 to 2018, Ashton served as mayor, leading a team of 800+ employees. During his tenure, Hayward led a massive transformation of the City’s economic, cultural, and aesthetic landscape. He was responsible for a budget of more than $200 million annually, which included Pensacola Energy, the state’s largest municipally owned natural gas utility, Pensacola International Airport, and the Port of Pensacola.
He also serves on several local boards, including Trustmark Bank, the University of West Florida’s Hal Marcus College of Science & Engineering, the College of Business, and the Moffitt Cancer Center’s Hope Innovation District.
